Who we are

What data we collect

Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, postal address — collected through the quote form and checkout, for quotes, bookings and delivery.

Order data: the services and options you buy, language pairs, deadlines, order notes, and delivery preference.

Document content: documents you send us by email for translation are personal data if they contain your information (e.g. a birth certificate, medical record or contract); we process them solely to deliver the translation you've ordered.

Technical data: basic site-usage data collected via Google Analytics 4, but only once you have given consent through the cookie banner — see our Cookie Policy.

Why we process it (legal bases)

Contract: to provide the quote, order or interpreting booking you've requested (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).

Consent: for analytics cookies, and for any optional marketing communication (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) — withdrawable at any time via "Manage cookie preferences."

Legal obligation: to meet invoicing, tax and record-keeping duties under Spanish law (Art. 6.1.c GDPR).

Legitimate interest: to keep the site secure and to answer enquiries sent through the contact form (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).

How long we keep it

Order and invoicing data is kept for as long as Spanish tax and commercial law requires (generally up to 6 years from the relevant tax year). Documents sent for translation are kept only as long as needed to deliver and support your order, then deleted. Quote-form enquiries that don't lead to an order are kept for a reasonable follow-up period and then deleted.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared with the translator or interpreter working on your order (a Translatesens team member bound by confidentiality), with our hosting and email providers acting as processors under a data-processing agreement, and with Google (Google Analytics 4) only if you've given cookie consent. We do not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA except where a service provider offers adequate safeguards under GDPR (e.g. an EU-US Data Privacy Framework-certified provider).

Your rights

Under GDPR and Spain's LOPDGDD 3/2018, you can ask us to access, rectify, delete, restrict or port your data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email support@translatesens.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), www.aepd.es.

Confidentiality of your documents

Any document you send us for translation is treated as confidential: it is seen only by the translator or interpreter working on your order, is not used for any purpose beyond delivering that order, and is deleted once it's no longer needed to support the order or meet a legal retention duty. This applies whether the document is a personal paper (a birth certificate, a medical record) or business material (a contract, a technical manual).

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging their own or their business's translation needs. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
